— FAQ

Things people ask.

How much does PaintPilot cost?

Browsing colors, building palettes, and matching with painters is free. In the visualizer, new users get a free render when signing up (limited-time offer).

Do I need an account to use the color tools?

You can browse the full library without one. A free account lets you save colors, build palettes, and generate renders of your own home.

Do you sell paint or take money from paint brands?

No. We don't sell paint and no brand sponsors our recommendations.

How are painters verified?

Every painter completes a short application and a four-point check before taking a project: state license, general liability, workers comp, and government ID. They submit documentation for each, and we confirm what's publicly verifiable against its source. Approval isn't automatic. We reverify yearly and do our due diligence, but we still recommend homeowners confirm their status before hiring.

How does the rendering work?

PaintPilot uses a proprietary AI rendering system, custom-built for painting, to rebuild a photo of your home in the palette you choose. It preserves the architecture, light, and texture, and places body, trim, and accent colors where they actually belong on the house. Use it to test color schemes and narrow down to the one that fits, instead of second-guessing ten options at once. It's the fastest way to see what works before you commit. We still recommend picking up paint samples before the final coat, since screens and lighting never match a wall perfectly.

How many painters will contact me?

Up to four, never more. Message directly in the app or give them a call.

What do you do with my contact info?

It goes to the painters matched to your project, and to nobody else. We don't resell it and we don't share it with paint brands for any reason.

Can I use my own painter?

Yes. The color library, palettes, and renders are yours to keep regardless of who you hire.
