California Privacy Notice
This California Privacy Notice supplements our Privacy Policy and applies solely to California residents. It is provided in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively, “CCPA”). Capitalized terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in our Privacy Policy.
Categories of Personal Information We Collect
In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information from or about California consumers:
| Category | Examples | Collected? |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email address, IP address | Yes |
| Personal information (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.80(e)) | Name, telephone number | Yes |
| Commercial information | Lead purchase records, transaction history | Yes (painters only) |
| Internet or network activity | Page views, clicks, device and browser data | Yes |
| Geolocation data | ZIP code, approximate city | Yes |
| Photos and visual information | Project photos uploaded by homeowners | Yes (if uploaded) |
| Inferences drawn from personal information | Project scope estimates, pricing | Yes |
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined under the CPRA (e.g., Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, precise geolocation, health information, or racial/ethnic origin).
How We Use Personal Information
We use the categories of personal information listed above for the following business purposes:
- Providing, operating, and improving the platform.
- Matching homeowner project requests with qualified painters.
- Processing lead purchases and payments.
- Sending transactional communications.
- Verifying painter credentials.
- Detecting fraud and ensuring platform security.
- Complying with legal obligations.
Disclosure of Personal Information
In the past 12 months we have disclosed personal information to the following categories of recipients for business purposes:
- Painters (third parties). When a painter purchases a homeowner's lead, we disclose the homeowner's name, email, and phone number to that painter.
- Advertising platforms (Meta Platforms). We share hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email address) with Meta Platforms, Inc. for cross-context behavioral advertising — to measure ad performance and reach relevant audiences. This identifier is hashed before transmission. Under the CCPA/CPRA, this constitutes “sharing” of personal information.
- Service providers. Supabase (database/storage), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), and Vercel (cloud hosting). These providers act as service providers under the CCPA.
Do We Sell or Share Personal Information?
Under the CCPA/CPRA's broad definitions, Paint Pilot both “sells” and “shares” personal information in two ways: (1) we disclose homeowner contact details to painters who purchase leads (a “sale”), and (2) we share hashed identifiers with Meta Platforms for cross-context behavioral advertising (a “share”). We do not otherwise sell personal information to data brokers or unrelated advertisers.
You have the right to opt out of both the painter-sharing and the advertising-sharing described above. To exercise these rights, visit our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or see the “Your Rights” section below. Opting out of painter-sharing means your lead will no longer be eligible for purchase and you will not receive quotes; opting out of advertising-sharing does not affect your ability to receive quotes.
Retention
We retain each category of personal information for the period necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and to comply with our legal obligations. Generally, homeowner project data is retained for 3 years and painter account data is retained for 2 years after account closure.
Your California Privacy Rights
California residents have the following rights under the CCPA:
Right to Know
You have the right to request that we disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources from which it was collected, the business purposes for collection, and the categories of third parties with whom it has been shared.
Right to Delete
You have the right to request deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions (e.g., information needed to complete a transaction or comply with a legal obligation).
Right to Correct
You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing
You have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information — both the sharing of your contact information with painters and the sharing of hashed identifiers with advertising platforms such as Meta. To exercise this right, visit our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or email us at [email protected] with the subject line “CCPA Opt-Out Request.” Note: if you are a homeowner opting out of having your contact information shared with painters, your lead will no longer be eligible for purchase and you will not receive quotes through our platform. Opting out of advertising-sharing does not affect your ability to receive quotes.
Right to Non-Discrimination
We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your CCPA rights. We will not deny you goods or services, charge different prices, provide a different level of service, or suggest that you will receive a different quality of service because you exercised a right under the CCPA.
Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
We do not collect or use sensitive personal information (as defined under the CPRA) beyond what is necessary to provide the services, so no separate opt-out is required.

- Mail: Paint Pilot, LLC, 1680 Fruitville Rd, Sarasota, FL 34236.
